UX Designer
We’re looking for our very first UX Designer to join us and take the lead in shaping the user experience and interface design for Remion’s software products.
About Remion
Remion is based in Tampere, and we’re a community of around 50 people where technical skills, an engineering mindset, a helping attitude, and flexibility meet. We work in the field of Industrial IoT, building both continuous development projects and new solutions for our customers.
We value long-term customer partnerships. Some of our clients have dedicated teams that collaborate with them for years, developing and improving their solutions together.
Our team brings together a wide range of experience, from seasoned professionals to recent graduates. What connects us is a shared passion for solving technical challenges, a genuine interest in technology, strong professional pride, and the drive to deliver high-quality results.
We’ve been growing steadily over the past two years, nearly doubling our team size. Now, we’re looking for our very first UX Designer to join us and take the lead in shaping the user experience and interface design for Remion’s software products.
The Role
We’re looking for a UX Expert to lead the user experience and interface design for Remion’s software products, primarily Regatta Insights (a data-driven analytics platform) and Normet HMI & web UIs (industrial and equipment control systems).
You’ll work closely with software engineers, product managers, and end users to transform complex functional requirements into intuitive, efficient, and visually compelling digital interfaces. Your work will help bring clarity, consistency, and usability across products, making technical systems both effective and enjoyable to use.
Success in this role means
delivering consistent, high-quality design assets and prototypes. You’ll receive positive feedback from both users and internal teams about usability and design clarity. Developer handoff and implementation will become smoother and more efficient thanks to a unified design system. Over time, you’ll improve the usability and visual consistency and overall experience across Regatta and Normet products.
You will be responsible for
designing, improving, and maintaining user experiences and interfaces that meet our customer needs.
You will:
• Conduct user research, interviews, and usability testing with end users.
• Map user journeys and personas to understand workflows in industrial and data-driven contexts.
• Define information architecture and navigation models for dashboards, HMIs, and web tools.
• Translate complex telemetry and analytics data into usable and insightful visual layouts.
• Develop wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes using Figma, Sketch, or similar tools.
• Design responsive and accessible web interfaces and HMI layouts for both desktop and industrial touchscreen displays.
• Collaborate with developers to ensure accurate and consistent UI implementation.
• Maintain and evolve a design system shared across Regatta and Normet solutions.
• Work with software engineers to define feasible UI components and integrations with back-end APIs.
• Support product managers with UX input during feature prioritization.
• Partner with customers and field engineers to gather feedback and validate usability in real environments.
Required skills and experience
• At least 5 years of experience in UX design for web or industrial applications.
• Excellent skills in Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch, and familiarity with frontend frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.
• Proven experience with data visualization, dashboards, or industrial HMIs.
• Understanding of HTML and CSS basics, and ability to collaborate effectively with developers.
• Excellent visual design sense, including layout, color theory, and typography, with a practical, user-centered mindset.
• Strong communication skills in English (Finnish is a plus).
Nice to have experience
Experience in industrial or IoT domains, knowledge of React-based component libraries such as MUI or ShadCN/UI, familiarity with SCADA/HMI design principles or embedded UIs, experience with usability testing, UX metrics, and accessibility standards (WCAG), or exposure to data visualization libraries like D3.js, Recharts, or Plotly.
You’ll fit right in if you
are an analytical yet creative problem solver who enjoys finding clarity in complex systems. You’re comfortable working in agile, iterative development environments and have a good eye for detail and visual harmony. You care about users and communicate proactively, bridging the gap between design and engineering with ease.
