About the role
We currently have two project managers and we are in the process of hiring a third one to the team. This open Project Manager role will focus on our Control System project and in a team that is just now being built. You will be working closely with one of our major Finnish client. The teams consist of embedded developers, automation engineers and a lead architect.
In this role, you will do project management related work 55% of time. 40% of your work tasks will be client interface related, and approximately 5% of the time you will be developing our Project Operations. In this role approximately 50% of the tasks are billable work.
You will also have supervisor responsibilities. This includes being responsible for the day-to-day leadership and development of your project team members. You will support their professional growth, handle 1:1 discussions, and help guide goal setting and performance feedback. Together with the operational manager, you’ll ensure that your team has the right conditions to succeed.
Project Management
You'll be organizing your team's tasks and making sure we meet our client commitments and making sure your team runs smoothly and tasks are handed logically:
You'll plan the scope, requirements, and progress of projects, working with application developers and technical experts to come up with solutions.
Together with the project team, you'll evaluate workloads and create tasks in Jira.
You'll kick off projects with Kick-Off meetings and wrap them up with Retrospective meetings.
Ensuring the quality of project deliveries and testing practices is also part of your role.
You'll keep an eye on project progress daily and weekly, joining production planning meetings to stay on top of things. You'll also track and maintain project resource forecasts and report on project status and any potential roadblocks to the operational manager.
Client Interface Responsibilities
You'll be the go-to person between the client and your team. This means keeping in touch with clients, understanding their needs, requirements, and priorities. You'll make sure project goals are realistic and that everyone is on the same page about objectives, implementation, and timelines.
You'll help the sales team with proposals, providing solution ideas, project requirements, progress updates, and workload estimates.
Keeping the client updated on the status and progress of projects is key, and you'll be the main point of contact between the client and your team.
You'll convey the client's needs to your team and your team's messages to the client.
You'll anticipate potential issues and inform the client in advance, working with the operational manager to find solutions internally first.
You'll also organize project start and end meetings with the client and hold joint team meetings.
Project Operation Development
You'll work with the COO and other Remion’s project managers to improve our project execution model. This includes joining operational development meetings, sharing your ideas on process improvements, gathering suggestions from your team, and helping to test and implement these suggestions.
Skill to success
To succeed in this role, you need to have excellent communication skills in Finnish and in English, including the ability to translate technical information for both technical and non-technical users, both in writing and verbally. In this role we require strong interpersonal skills. You are able to create and maintain a positive working atmosphere within your team and you can also handle problems promptly while keeping the team spirit up.
You are comfortable taking responsibility as a team leader and supporting others in their professional development. You understand how to lead people both through everyday collaboration and through structured leadership practices.

- You're familiar with the Industrial Internet of Things and knowing a bit about the machinery industry is a plus.
- You've worked directly with clients and can figure out their needs through conversation.
- You understand the importance of the sales perspective in client interactions.
- Your understanding in software development projects and their unique challenges is based on your experience.
- We often use agile methodologies in project management and hope you have experience with these working methods.
- You can understand the requirements of software projects and create tasks for the team using Jira and Confluence.
- You work systematically and goal-oriented, actively monitor project progress, and immediately address any risks that could hinder project success.

We are offering a salary based on the level of expertise from €4500 to €5500. Because the experience and skill requirements for this role are high and "limiting", we are very open to having a discussion about your salary thoughts and find a starting salary that meets your needs.
You are welcome to work at our Finlayson, Tampere office. Remote work is also fine but we do hope to see you in our company events and team gatherings. We do not have mandatory office workdays.
