About the role
We currently have two project managers, and we're planning to expand with the addition of a full stack Team Lead. You will be working closely with our two clients from major Finnish engineering companies. The teams primarily consist of gateway and backend developers, with occasional involvement from infrastructure and UI developers.
In this role, you will do project management related work 55% of time. 40% of your work tasks will be client interface related, and approximately 5% of the time you will be developing our Project Operations. In this role approximately 50% of the tasks are billable work.
Project Management
You'll be organizing your team's tasks and making sure we meet our client commitments and making sure your team runs smoothly and tasks are handed logically:
- You'll plan the scope, requirements, and progress of projects, working with application developers and technical experts to come up with solutions.
- Together with the project team, you'll evaluate workloads and create tasks in Jira.
- You'll kick off projects with Kick-Off meetings and wrap them up with Retrospective meetings.
- Ensuring the quality of project deliveries and testing practices is also part of your role.
- You'll keep an eye on project progress daily and weekly, joining production planning meetings to stay on top of things. You'll also track and maintain project resource forecasts and report on project status and any potential roadblocks to the operational manager.
Client Interface Responsibilities
You'll be the go-to person between the client and your team. This means keeping in touch with clients, understanding their needs, requirements, and priorities. You'll make sure project goals are realistic and that everyone is on the same page about objectives, implementation, and timelines.
- You'll help the sales team with proposals, providing solution ideas, project requirements, progress updates, and workload estimates.
- Keeping the client updated on the status and progress of projects is key, and you'll be the main point of contact between the client and your team.
- You'll convey the client's needs to your team and your team's messages to the client.
- You'll anticipate potential issues and inform the client in advance, working with the operational manager to find solutions internally first.
- You'll also organize project start and end meetings with the client and hold joint team meetings.
Project Operation development
You'll work with the operational manager and two other Remion´s project managers to improve our project execution model. This includes joining operational development meetings, sharing your ideas on process improvements, gathering suggestions from your team, and helping to test and implement these suggestions.
Skill to success
To succeed in this role, you need to have excellent communication skills in English and in Finnish, including the ability to translate technical information for both technical and non-technical users, both in writing and verbally. In this role we require strong interpersonal skills. You are able to create and maintain a positive working atmosphere within your team and you can also handle problems promptly while keeping the team spirit up.
It would be awesome if you've worked as a software developer or solution architect before. While it's not a must for this role, it can definitely make things easier if you know how to design the architectures we'll be working on.
- You've got experience in similar roles and some great success stories to share with us 😊
- You're familiar with the Industrial Internet of Things and knowing a bit about the machinery industry is a plus.
- You've worked directly with clients and can figure out their needs through conversation.
- You understand the importance of the sales perspective in client interactions.
- Your understanding in software development projects and their unique challenges is based on your experience.
- We often use agile methodologies in project management and hope you have experience with these working methods.
- You can understand the requirements of software projects and create tasks for the team using Jira and Confluence.
- You work systematically and goal-oriented, actively monitor project progress, and immediately address any risks that could hinder project success.
Please take into account that, our product Regatta® is unique, so you might face new challenges that have never come up in your career before.

If you're interested in taking on a supervisory role, there may be an opportunity for that. However, the role does not initially include supervisory duties, so you can focus purely on leading the team.
